Leadership Message

Classroom Care Jamaica is governed by a Board of Directors committed to ethical leadership, financial stewardship, and the advancement of educational equity in Jamaica. Our Board provides strategic direction, ensures accountability, and safeguards the organization’s mission, values, and long-term sustainability.

Board members bring diverse experience in education, community leadership, nonprofit governance, and professional service. Together, they uphold the organization’s core values (T.E.A.C.H.) and serve in the best interest of the students, teachers, donors, and communities we support.

Shavonae Cherrington

Founder & Executive Director

Shavonae Cherrington is a trained science teacher from Jamaica with over sixteen years of experience teaching in both the Jamaican and USA school systems. She holds a Teaching Diploma in Mathematics & Science from Shortwood Teachers College, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of the West Indies and a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the prestigious Boston College. Shavonae has also served as President of her Optimist Club and has led many nonprofit initiatives throughout her career.

As Founder and Executive Director, Shavonae oversees day-to-day operations, program implementation, partnerships, and organizational development, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of Classroom Care Jamaica. Her deep connection to Jamaica and her passion for education drive the organization’s commitment to creating lasting, measurable impact in classrooms across the island.

Roneith Cohen-Reid

President / Board Chair

Roneith Cohen-Reid serves as President of the Board of Classroom Care Jamaica. She is a Team Lead in Preoperative Services within the healthcare sector and a Vocational Instructor in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Welding. Roneith holds a Bachelor of Education in Industrial Technology from the University of Technology, Jamaica, and a Technical Diploma in Welding from HEART NSTA. With over 20 years of experience in education, she brings strong leadership and a deep commitment to community service through her longstanding involvement with Kiwanis International.

In her role as Board President, Roneith provides governance oversight, strategic guidance, and leadership support to ensure the organization fulfills its mission of equipping Jamaican classrooms and supporting educators with integrity and accountability.

Emile G. Rodney

Vice-President/Director

Emile G. Rodney is a respected educator, community leader, and public servant with more than a decade of service in education and community development. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Honours) and a Diploma in Teaching. He serves as a Justice of the Peace and has served on several school boards, as well as national and community boards, including agricultural and constituency-level organizations. He also serves as Caretaker Councillor for the Port Antonio Division and is deeply committed to giving back through service, leadership, and community empowerment.

Mr. Rodney supports the President in governance leadership and assists with strategic planning and board development. The Vice President assumes the responsibilities of the President when necessary and contributes to effective board operations.

Janeille Stora-Hall

Secretary

Janeille Stora-Hall is a dedicated professional with experience in leadership, operations, and community-focused initiatives. She brings a thoughtful, service-driven approach to her work, with a strong interest in educational equity and mission-based organizations. Her background includes administrative support, coordination, and strategic organization, with strengths in communication and relationship building. She is passionate about giving back through service and leadership, particularly in initiatives that uplift children and underserved communities.

As a Board Member of Classroom Care Jamaica, Janeille is committed to stewarding the organization’s mission with integrity, accountability, and purpose.

Renae Cordwell

Treasurer

Renae Cordwell is a financial planner with extensive experience in investment operations, financial planning, and financial analysis. Ren holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a major in Finance from Baruch College and brings a strong command of financial data, financial planning, and long-term strategy to support disciplined, informed decision-making. Renae is committed to sound financial stewardship, transparency, and sustainable growth.

As Treasurer, Renae provides clear financial oversight, strategic insight, and prudent governance to help safeguard the organization’s financial strength and advance its long-term objectives.
