Our Commitment to Accountability

At Classroom Care Jamaica, transparency and accountability are not just values, they are the foundation of everything we do. We believe that donors, partners, schools, and communities deserve to know exactly how their contributions are being used and what impact they are making. Our governance structure and operational policies are designed to ensure the highest standards of ethical conduct, financial integrity, and mission alignment.

Policies Overview

Classroom Care Jamaica operates under

a comprehensive set of policies that guide our work and ensure we remain accountable to all stakeholders. These policies include:

  • Privacy Policy: We respect the privacy of donors, partners, teachers, and website visitors. Personal information is collected only as necessary to process donations, communicate updates, and improve services. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
  • Donation Policy: Donations are used to support specific projects whenever possible. Funds cover supplies, delivery, and necessary processing costs. In rare cases where a project cannot proceed, funds are redirected to similar educational needs aligned with our mission. Donations are generally non-refundable.
  • Transparency & Accountability Policy: We commit to accurate financial tracking, timely donor updates, and ethical stewardship of all funds. Schools provide confirmation of receipt and basic impact documentation, which we share with donors for transparency.
  • Conflict of Interest Policy: All Board members and leadership are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and act in the best interest of Classroom Care Jamaica at all times.
  • Financial Oversight & Stewardship: Our Board of Directors provides regular financial oversight to ensure that resources are managed responsibly and used in accordance with our mission.

Classroom Care Jamaica is governed by a Board of Directors that provides strategic direction, ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards, and safeguards the organization’s mission and values. The Board meets regularly to review programs, finances, and organizational priorities.

Our governance documents, including Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and Board Policies, are maintained in accordance with nonprofit best practices and are available upon request or through official organizational channels.

501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Status

Current Status: What This Means: Once our 501(c)(3) status is approved, donations to Classroom Care Jamaica will be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We are committed to operating with the same transparency, accountability, and mission-driven focus throughout this process.

Board Service & Transparency

All Board members are expected to uphold fiduciary duties of care, loyalty, and obedience; act in the best interest of Classroom Care Jamaica; support fundraising and advocacy efforts; and comply with all organizational policies, including conflict of interest and child safeguarding policies.
