General Questions

What is Classroom Care Jamaica?

Classroom Care Jamaica is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting schools across Jamaica by providing essential classroom resources and teaching materials. We work directly with school leaders and teachers to identify needs and ensure that donated funds result in tangible, verifiable impact within classrooms.

We operate under an organization-led giving model. Schools submit project requests, which we review and post on our website with detailed budgets. Donors contribute to specific projects. Once fully funded, we purchase supplies from approved vendors and deliver them directly to the school. Schools then provide confirmation of receipt and impact documentation, which we share with donors.

Yes. Classroom Care Jamaica is a nonprofit corporation. Our application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is currently pending approval from the IRS. Once approved, donations will be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Once our 501(c)(3) status is finalized and we begin active fundraising, donors will be able to contribute to specific school projects posted on our website. Donations can be made securely online, and donors will receive updates on the project’s progress and impact.

About Our Programs

How are schools selected to receive support?

Schools are identified through outreach, referrals, and partnerships with educational organizations across Jamaica. Priority is given to schools with limited access to resources, particularly those in rural and underserved communities.

We support projects that provide essential classroom resources and teaching materials, including books, stationery, science and math equipment, classroom furniture, technology, art supplies, and physical education materials.

Once our 501(c)(3) status is approved, donations to Classroom Care Jamaica will be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donors will receive official tax receipts for their contributions.

There is no specific timeline for when a project is submitted. We are currently in the pilot phase and awaiting approval of our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Once approved, we will begin actively fundraising and posting projects on our website. This process may take up to three months.
